Kedden reggel a tévében mutatják, hogy országos sztrájk van, lehetetlen a közlekedés a nagyvárosok között. A turisták között valamiféle válsághangulat alakult ki, van akinek megy a repülője, van aki túrát foglalt másnapra. Szerencsére mi nem sietünk, ezért megnéztünk két filmet (Che és The Final Cut), és scrabblet játszottunk. Szerdán a helyzet változatlan, kockáztatni nem érdemes. Egész délután a hostel kertjében olvastunk, Erich Passoától én meg Bolivia történetéről. Egy soratai angol emigráns, Pete Good írta, minden este találkoztunk vele az éttermében. A könyv letehetetlen, rengeteg véres harc és helyi trianon, Bolivia több, mint a területe felét vesztette el kevesebb, mint 100 év alatt.

Tuesday morning the news are that there are roadblocks around the main cities in Bolivia. It is impossible to get to La Paz and a kind of crisis feeling develops among the tourists. Some have a plane to catch others have booked tours. Fortunately, we are not in a rush so we sat down to watch movies (Che and The Final Cut) and play Scrabble. On Wednesday it is all the same, not worth to risk private transport for a lot more money. This afternoon was one of the bests, just sitting in the hostel garden and reading. Erich has a book about Passoa and I bought one from the semilocal English immigrant Pete Good. It is about the Bolivian History, the bloodsheds and the tragedy of losing more than 50% of its territory in less than 100 years. By the way, pretty critical on the U.S. foreign policies.
